ABOUT THE ROLE


We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, results-driven Technical and Inventory Accountant to join our team in our San Francisco office. In this role you will lead in our global Inventory Cost accounting and month/ year-end close and annual audit activities, managing monthly and annual reporting of Inventory and assisting in financial statements, working with Procurement/ Supply Chain members and internal/ external auditors authoring technical financial memos and providing PBC support documents.  


Working in a small team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Technical and Inventory Cost Accountant will have constant interaction with the global Finance/ Accounting team, Procurement/ Supply Chain team and external auditors.


You will be responsible to identify and implement opportunities to resolve Inventory issues, understand and make proper recommendation for GAAP related transactions, technical memos and general ledger account reconciliations. Assist to improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes across teams and organizations.



WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING


Technical Accounting:
  • Fulfilling standard accountancy tasks, conducting research, reviewing the work of other financial professionals, authoring technical accounting memos and analyzing financial data.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on regulatory changes.
  • Staying updated on new financial reporting requirements and applying these standards and guidelines.
  • Offering financial analysis and reports, harmonizing general ledger and sub ledger, and enforcing team procedures and policies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with an ability to explain technical accounting requirements to management, non-accountants and business partners


Inventory Accounting:
  • Record inventory related transactions and maintain inventory ledgers
  • Performing audits and analysis of inventory reports
  • Ensuring accurate inventory valuations and performing inventory cost analysis
  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations for inventory accounts
  • Analyzing and identifying inventory discrepancies and resolving issues
  • Collaborate with purchasing/ supply chain/ operations departments to manage inventory needs
  • Assist in the development of inventory control procedures and best practices
  • Provide input for monthly and annual financial reports
  • Comply with internal controls, and participate in audits as needed

  • 5+ years of audit, technical accounting and/or financial reporting work experience
  • Tech startup or manufacturing industry experience
  • Experience with ERP (Oracle Netsuite) or similar financial reporting tools
  • Proven ability to develop new ideas, process improvement and creative solutions
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams; strong customer focus - both Internal/External
