The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Account Manager to join our ambitious team. You’ll act as the primary point of contact for your customers post-implementation, consistently delivering on their expectations and ensuring they’re getting the most value out of their Buildout package. As a quota-carrying AM, you’ll focus on renewing your book of business and driving expansion opportunities. At times, you’ll triage customer issues and escalations, supporting customers to get the best use of our tools. You should be driven to make your customers successful and connect the dots between your customers’ goals and leveraging our suite of products.

How You’ll Contribute at Buildout

  • Foster strong customer relationships and generate revenue for your book of business, earning their business year after year by securing renewals and expanding their accounts through cross-sell and upsell opportunities

  • Own the full sales cycle from identifying expansion opportunities to building the relationships with key stakeholders to negotiation and contracting

  • Develop robust success plans for each account, run playbooks, identify useful features and products, and offer training to improve adoption

  • Regularly monitor and analyze customer health and interactions, identifying churn triggers and opportunities for training and upsell

  • Be the voice of your customer when collaborating with other departments like Support, Implementation, Finance, and Product, to resolve issues or relay customer feedback.

  • Partner with Customer Success Operations to create strategic playbooks in Planhat (email and call campaigns, in-app experience) and develop and execute webinars for existing customers to support product adoption

  • Collaborate with your team on process improvement, leading the team in testing out new ideas when something isn’t working

  • Take the work, but not yourself, too seriously

What You’ll Bring to Buildout

  • 3+ years of B2B SaaS sales account management experience with a focus on upsells, cross-sells, and expansion opportunities

  • Experience nurturing customer relationships and managing their renewals

  • A track record of meeting and exceeding high-volume metrics and sales goals

  • Experience with Salesforce (required) and customer success software like Planhat (nice to have)

  • A juggling pro who can comfortably jump between inbound customer requests, to demos,  to strategic renewal conversations, as well as adjust and match tone based on the customer call

  • A knack for creating and improving processes and embracing change for the better

  • A customer-first mindset and passionate about providing an exemplary customer experience

We know there are great candidates who won’t check all of these boxes, and we also know you might bring important skills that we haven’t considered. If that’s you, don’t hesitate to apply and tell us about yourself.

We are based in Chicago, but this is a fully-remote role open across most of the US. Candidates must be able to work within one hour of the CST time zone. The compensation for this position is a base salary between $70,000 - $84,000 with OTE between $100,000 - $120,000.

Perks & Benefits

This program includes:

  • Impactful insurance and benefit options, including 100% coverage of employee dental and vision insurance premiums, HSA seed, company-paid STD, LTD,  life insurance, and telemedicine, and a wellness benefit of $400/year.

  • Policies that support a healthy work/life harmony, including Flexible PTO, 14 paid company holidays, paid parental leave, and give back days

  • 401(k) with 4% company match and immediate vesting

  • A fully remote work culture with a monthly remote work reimbursement ($600/year) to support our distributed team and an annual, in-person company kickoff
