Position Overview


As the Lifestyle/Syndication Manager on the Business Development team, you will research, source, negotiate, model, and close agreements with publishers in the lifestyle categories (adventure, fashion, travel) and be prepared to reach out to publishers to migrate onto The Arena Group Platform. You will be an important collaborator between business and editorial teams to drive revenue growth.


We are looking for an energetic, driven person who loves digital content. You need to be well organized, have a basic understanding of using Salesforce and the ability to do base-level Excel modeling. Job includes collaborating with potential clients and BD Lifestyle leads within The Arena Group and publishers on Arena Lifestyle Media Group. Goal is to sign publishers and content partners and execute all phases of a sales cycle.

The Arena Group’s expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $55,000 - $80,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group’s total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

 

Responsibilities


  • Identify, recruit and onboard new content partners to Parade, Men’s Journal and the Adventure Group brands, including a creation and review of term sheets and contracts
  • Coordinate with editorial team on editorial and business development led initiatives, which may include new partnerships, technologies, and seasonality trends
  • Create presentations and contribute to meetings with internal and external stakeholders, highlighting the overall performance of The Arena Group’s BD efforts
  • Monitor industry news and translate those into actionable recommendations and optimizations
  • Audit, review and analyze reports, lead optimization efforts to meet team objectives as well as advertiser and partner goals
  • Assist in tracking and reporting of RSS feeds across newspaper publisher websites
  • Coordinate and manage communications with newspaper publishers regarding Parade’s weekly e-edition product
  • Communicate with finance regarding invoicing of digital content and Parade’s e-edition

 

Requirements


  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree
  • 3-5 years of business development, acquisition, or marketing expertise, with keen understanding of the digital media space
  • Organized, strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in studying site performance data
  • Candidate must be a creative thinker and problem solver with a collaborative attitude and a communicative approach to work
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to craft a story and represent it to leaders, team members and advertising partners
  • Candidate is proactive with outreach to partners and has proven negotiation skills
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Comfortable in a role where securing new revenue is critical to achieving the team’s objectives
