Position Overview:

About the Role:

  • Craft and Lead Strategic Initiatives: Develop and execute impactful government relations strategies that align with Canada Goose’s goals, including policies on trade, domestic manufacturing, sustainability, and international growth.

  • Build Powerful Relationships: Establish and nurture strong, collaborative connections with government officials, regulatory agencies, and industry associations at all levels—municipal, provincial, and federal.

  • Provide Executive-Level Counsel: Offer strategic guidance to senior leadership on public policy and regulatory matters that directly influence Canada Goose’s supply chain, retail operations, and sustainability initiatives.

  • Be the Voice of Canada Goose: Advocate for the brand’s interests in legislative processes, from trade agreements to environmental regulations and textile industry policies.

  • Monitor and Influence Policy: Stay ahead of industry trends and government policy changes, assessing potential business impacts and identifying opportunities to advocate for the brand.

  • Represent and Influence: Be a key representative of Canada Goose at government meetings, public policy forums, and industry events, strengthening our presence and influence in critical policy discussions.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Legal, Investor Relations, and Marketing to align government relations efforts with broader corporate objectives.

  • Crisis Management Expertise: Play a pivotal role in crisis response by providing strategic counsel on regulatory matters that may impact the brand’s reputation and future success.

About You:

  • Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Business, or a related field, with 5-8 years of progressive experience in government relations, public affairs, or regulatory policy—preferably within a global brand or regulated industry.

  • Proven Impact: A demonstrated history of successful advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and policy influence, with extensive experience working with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations.

  • Policy Expertise: Deep understanding of legislative and regulatory processes across municipal, provincial, and federal levels.

  • Strategic Communicator: Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to distill complex policy issues into actionable insights and influence key policy decisions.

  • Analytical & Forward-Thinking: Ability to assess emerging policies and trends, identifying risks and opportunities for the business.

  • High-Impact Leadership: Strong analytical skills, professionalism, political acumen, and a results-driven approach to managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
