Account Executive - Higher Education

Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hello, hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a campus in Austin, Texas which is now home to our US operations. You have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Owning the university lifecycle. You'll own strategy, planning, execution, and results within identified universities alongside a Higher Education Advisor to drive additional MAU growth.
  • Fostering relationships with university administration. You'll onboard university professors and students via Single-Sign-on and provide strategic sales support to ensure a successful deployment of Canva across multiple campus departments and campus-wide implementations inclusive of students and professors.
  • Focussing on the Education community. You'll run a healthy and predictable business that delivers a jointly agreed customer transformation strategy focused on educational outcomes within universities.
  • Understanding the Canva user lifecycle. You'll establish close relationships with our passionate community of educators and learners to know first-hand what they need to become successful Canva users.
  • Identifying trends and usage patterns. You'll utilize data analysis to inform future product and marketing plans.
  • Driving retention and engagement. You'll continuously test, learn, and iterate on our lifecycle strategy at our identified districts to build meaningful and impactful relationships.

You're probably a match if

  • You have experience with the Higher Education market. You have experience working with universities and are familiar with the challenges and opportunities in instructional technology. You can confidently engage with educators and technology specialists to show how Canva can enhance student learning through design and collaboration.
  • You’re a sales expert. You’re comfortable selling education software solutions combined with real-world teaching and instructional technology design in order to drive MAU growth across institutions.
  • You thrive in collaborative environments. You enjoy working with different teams, sharing insights, and collaborating cross-functionally to create the best solutions for customers.
  • You know how to introduce new technologies. You understand how institutions roll out new student technology and the steps involved in large-scale deployments. Your insights help institutions implement solutions smoothly and effectively.
  • You’re a clear communicator. You create clarity through your communication by making complex things simple. You can confidently present your ideas and tell a compelling story to customers and the broader team.
  • You turn ideas into action. You’re a strategic thinker who loves moving from planning to execution. You know how to break down big ideas into practical steps that lead to real impact.
  • You have experience engaging online communities. You understand how to build and nurture communities, using social media and other channels to educate and engage audiences.
  • You have a growth mindset. You’re curious, adaptable, and always looking for ways to improve and learn - while having fun along the way!
