SUMMARY:

  • The hourly Employment Specialist pay rate to work on assignment in West Shore School District is $19 per hour
  • The Employment Specialist will provide support for the West Shore School District Aspiring Educators & Future School Careers Program. The mission of the Aspiring Educators & Future School Careers Program is to provide high school students with hands-on experiences across various school roles, enabling them to make informed career choices in education or other critical school district positions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reads and correctly interprets written directions and performs accurate computations related to the functions of the position
  • Assist High School Career Coordinators in the successful onboarding of identified student participants into the Student Support Substitute Program
  • Assist potential Student Support Substitutes with the application process
  • Assist identified Student Support Substitutes with the onboarding process, including the successful completion of new hire documents
  • Provide program overview and expectations to participating Student Support Substitutes
  • Host larger group seminar meetings/zooms for students
  • Provide on-site observations of, and feedback for, Student Support Substitutes in classrooms or other assigned locations

EDUCATION / EXPRIENCE:

  • High school diploma plus specialized training of one to two years
  • Proficiency with keyboarding
  • Prior experience in productivity applications and electronic communications
  • A minimum of three years of practical work experience in the public education field

(Clearances current within 12 months)

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN
  • TB Screening - current within 3 months
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
