Family Support Specialist

About your Role: 

As a Family Support Specialist (FSS), you will work with children/youth ages newborn to 17 who are in foster care or transitioning back into the home, and their foster and birth families, or caregivers.   In this position, you will work with the client and involved parties in the community and in their homes to conduct an initial intake and create, implement and assess the child’s treatment plan for services to successfully transition.  Services will include linking the child/youth and their family with community resources, educating the families and client on behavior management techniques, providing parenting skills training, and encouraging the foster and birth families to co-parent and transition the child/youth successfully.

Does the following apply to you?
  

  • 18 years of age or older

One of the following: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent AND a minimum of two (2) years’ of experience working with kids/youth and their families; OR
  • Associate’s Degree in a Human Service field i.e. Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling etc. AND a minimum of one (1) year of experience working with kids/youth and their families
  • Active and valid unrestricted Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card, DCS Clearance with no substantiated reports as well satisfactory results of background checks as required
  • Current Arizona State Driver’s License in good standing with a good driving record for the past three (3) years; along with active personal vehicle registration and liability insurance
