People Team Lead

People Team Lead:

We are hiring an experienced professional to own the people operations function at Compound. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the people function, working closely with the founders. We are looking for someone that executes without a high degree of oversight. You are a team of one. You will have the support of others, but it will be in your hands to handle both the operational demand and to build processes as we expand. What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support the company’s overall business plan and direction, particularly in areas of talent management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation.

  • Lead the recruitment and selection process, ensuring the attraction and retention of top talent to support our rapid growth. Develop strategies to enhance employer branding and ensure a robust talent pipeline.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, providing guidance on HR-related issues, conflict resolution, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

  • Oversee the performance management process, ensuring that employee goals are aligned with organizational objectives. Implement systems to track and improve employee performance and engagement.

  • Manage compensation and benefits programs to ensure they are competitive and aligned with our business objectives. Conduct regular market analysis and adjust programs as needed.

  • Foster a positive company culture that reflects our core values. Implement initiatives to improve employee engagement and satisfaction, ensuring a productive and motivated workforce.

  • Identify and implement programs to improve organizational effectiveness and employee development. Work closely with leadership to identify skill gaps and design training programs to address them.

  • Ensure that HR policies and practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain and update the employee handbook as necessary.

Competencies and Skills  

  • Experience in a Human Resources role. Particular consideration given to candidates who have experience with quickly scaling businesses, and candidates who have experience particularly at the intersection of tech and finance. 

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business goals.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and experience in managing compliance.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide strategic guidance to senior management.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and innovate outside the scope of existing resources

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced start-up / technology-centric environment

  • Ability to translate ambiguous circumstances into clear, actionable next steps to help others navigate change
