IT Project Manager

Description

The Information Technology Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of technology-driven projects by managing scope, budget, and timelines effectively. This role will provide strong leadership, leverage advanced technical expertise, and apply a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams to implement innovative IT solutions that align with organizational objectives.


Essential Duties
  • Serves as both a functional and people manager for a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. 
  • Acts as a servant leader by removing obstacles, addressing challenges, and ensuring team members have the resources and support necessary to successfully complete their tasks.
  • Oversees the full lifecycle of IT projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation to full implementation. Responsibilities include managing requirements gathering, discovery, design, testing phases (FUT, QA, SIT, UAT), training, deployment, and driving adoption.
  • Takes time to understand and learn business processes, reaching out to experts, asking the right questions, and prioritizing and performing necessary follow-ups to resolve issues.
  • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.


Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manages assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project(s).
  • Oversees the ComputerCare IT infrastructure in collaboration with the Senior Systems Engineer to ensure that computer systems run smoothly, and that any technical issues are resolved quickly. This includes data analytics and reporting. 
  • Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects, including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding and staffing.
  • Translates business needs and requirements into deliverables such as functional specifications, workflows, diagrams, user stories, and more.
  • Provides recommendations to leadership and other stakeholders on program strategy and direction to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
  • Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information as needed to prepare project status reports.
  • Attends and participates in quarterly company leadership meetings, collaborating on company initiatives and deliverables.
  • Takes the lead in driving a culture of continuous improvement, driving change management.
  • Drives excellence in Health and Safety programs, ensuring a culture of a safe work environment by eliminating hazards and risks wherever possible.
  • Participates in long-term evaluation and planning for infrastructure needs in the department in consultation with the VP of Operations.
  • Collects input and prepares annual performance appraisals for the IT team following consultation with VP of Operations and/or Human Resources.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers and vendors via verbal and written communications to ensure that any issues that arise are addressed quickly and professionally.
  • Drives organizational excellence, ensuring a work culture of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion by living the company’s vision and core values.
  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Project/Program Management, ideally within a software development or IT environment.
  • 5+ years of Agile experience: Scrum, Kanban and a track record of Agile project delivery.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or similar certifications is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science-related field strongly preferred; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, collaboration, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and successfully delivering cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and partner expectations.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


$128,000 - $160,000 a year
The total compensation package may include:
