This candidate can be based out of Las Vegas, NV or Salt Lake City, UT. 

Who You Are: As the Associate Buyer you will be accountable for the planning, inventory management, and procurement within the production operation. The role will work both internally and externally to ensure that all elements of these inputs are covered to maintain efficient operation throughout the supply chain and maintain all stock levels supporting the facility’s needs. This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, planning and scheduling the movement of finished goods, both vertical and 3rd party, and related materials through the production and inventory process. This includes placing orders, forecasting sales, reviewing invoices, reconciling accounts, and identifying new opportunities as they arise. You must work with vendors consistently to build strong relationships, resulting in lasting partnerships and favorable deals for the operation.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create purchasing strategies that tie to financial goals of each dispensary, state, and region
  • Work with Store Operations team to craft localized assortments and sales forecasts to drive profitability
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers of cannabis products to ensure consistent access to product for our patients
  • Manage the full lifecycle of buying: product innovation, vendor meetings, costing negotiations, executive reporting, pricing analysis, promotional calendars, and product exit strategies
  • Builds reports to enhance decision making at all levels of the organization.
  • Audit purchasing processes to create “best in class” behaviors
  • Understand the competitive landscape and identifies opportunities for Curaleaf brands and products
  • Generate PO’s to and build and maintain strong business relationships with third party vendors
  • Negotiate strong and lasting partnerships and contracts with vendors
  • Identify and recommend business opportunities with a multitude of account options
  • Planning, forecasting and purchasing in order to manage inventory levels and maximize service to the customer while hitting inventory level and working capital targets
  • Continuously improving performance standards and processes in conjunction with the site and departmental goals
  • Identifying project opportunities within the site or across the business removing organizational barriers to deliver continuous improvement
  • Coordinating the receipt and shipping of all goods to maintain service metrics
  • Proactively taking part in departmental meetings to ensure up to date communication is provided to the team.

Who You Are:

  • You have outstanding interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • You operate successfully under pressure, thrive in a changing, fast-paced environment
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience with inventory management, new product inventory planning, buying, merchandising, supply chain, forecasting tools, and assortment decision-making
  • You have knowledge of business data analysis and basic business software
  • Positive and energetic attitude and personality comfortable with rapid change and growth
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Tableau
  • Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP Systems is a plus.
