Doran Jones is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a high-performing DevOps team that supports critical infrastructure for a global financial technology company. This team leads securities finance applications for a client base comprising investment banks, agent lenders, and hedge funds.

Due to our rapidly growing customer base, we are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our client’s DevOps team. This role is a high-impact opportunity to work on critical production systems used by global financial institutions. You’ll contribute to the reliability, scalability, and performance of our cloud-based infrastructure, collaborating with international teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This is a remote role working EST business hours, with participation in an on-call rotation, including some weekends.

Responsibilities

Monitor production systems to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability
Respond to and resolve incidents promptly
Automate routine operational tasks, deployments, and infrastructure maintenance.
Identify performance bottlenecks and work with engineering teams to optimize application and infrastructure performance.
Participate in capacity planning and system scaling strategies.
Ensure systems are secure by design and work closely with internal teams to address vulnerabilities and enforce best practices.
Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to improve system architecture and deployment pipelines.
Document processes, runbooks, and best practices for knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Required Experience

Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration, preferably RHEL or Rocky Linux.
Experience working in production environments with a focus on reliability and incident response.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
In-depth experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services, including, but not limited to, EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Athena, and Systems Manager.
Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and clients.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a fast-paced Agile environment

Preferred Experience

AWS SysOps Associate certification.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows.
Experience using Terraform (ability to read and interpret code).
Experience using Ansible for configuration management.
Basic scripting skills in Python or other scripting languages.
