Battery Test Engineer

ABOUT THE POSITION:

This role will be responsible for China and US 3rd party test lab management. From reviewing the test curve, monitor the cell performance test progress, through the final test report, confirm the cell consistency, compare the curve with the supplier’s in house test result, to figure out the best cell performance supplier. You will create the complete test process from the sample shipping to the sample loading for the US lab, achieve the standardized test and accurate test result. Hold regular meetings to define the test raw data upload frequency and format. You can also improve the test result template or test process.


• Based on the test milestones, help to release the samples PO and test PO 1~2 months ahead of test starts.

• Define the cell vendor sample test report format based on real requirements.

• Define the FLN cell barcode to cover the cell and review the samples re-label report.

• Qualify the cell connected impedance between cell terminal and equipment line.

• Confirm the voltage clip location when touch cell busbar.

• Update the test status every week and test result every month by email and in Jira system.

• Analysis of the abnormal test results, like capacity, RTE…etc. and find out the solution to correct and prevent it.

• Work with supplier on failure root cause analysis as well as production problems.

• Collaboration with different function teams inside company to deliver test result status.

• Create the complete test process for the US lab from sample shipping to sample loading.

• Support team administration work as per request and contributes to supplier, new product, new manufacturing process study and introduction.

• Bachelor’s degree and above in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical, material or similar.

• 2+ years’ experience in developing, testing, quality management regarding battery cells

• Basic knowledge about cell materials, chemistry, design and process

• Ability to collaborate across disciplines, departments, both internal and external, and across geographies, with strong teamwork skills

• Better to have experience with cell failure analysis process and method

• Strong organization and communication (written and verbal) skills.

• Excellent written and verbal English skills.

• Self-driven.

• Ability to travel up to 20% of time.
