Principal Product Manager, Growth

Company Overview

Our mission is to empower people to have their most productive workday. To do this we have built the industry-leading workforce analytics platform for remote and distributed teams. We were an early believer in the remote work trend and have been one hundred percent remote from day one, which was over a decade ago. With a focus on transparency and accountability, our software provides valuable insights about work habits. Our platform powers time and activity tracking, shift/schedule management, as well as invoicing, and payments for over 95,000 businesses. But we are just getting started. We believe that the remote work trend represents the biggest tectonic shift in the business world since the advent of the PC and that the majority of companies will have a tool like Hubstaff in their tech stack within the next decade. We have a winning culture and want to talk to you about how to help us continue our incredible momentum.

The position

We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager in the US to join our Product Department and lead our two growth teams. Both teams are small cross functional teams that move very quickly and are data driven. They run experiments with two key results in mind: onboarding/activation and retention. The Principal PM will not only set the high level direction for these teams, but also execute solutions, and see experiments through to completion. You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a remote environment and is passionate about growth.

What You’ll Do:

1- Team Leadership and Management

  • Lead and mentor two growth-focused teams, overseeing initiatives around onboarding/activation and retention.

  • Directly manage a data analyst, conducting regular 1:1s, supporting career development, and handling performance reviews.

2- A/B Testing and Experimentation

  • Drive the strategy and execution of A/B tests across retention and onboarding/activation initiatives, guiding teams on ideation, setup, and analysis.

  • Push the team towards a high collaboration and high efficiency mentality when coming up with, and implementing tests

3- Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Collaborate closely with the data analyst to uncover behavioral insights, analyze test results, and identify successful experiments.

  • Use data insights to inform future strategies, validate hypotheses, and adjust approaches based on performance metrics.

4- Process Improvement and Documentation

  • Oversee and optimize team workflows, documentation, and tools to improve efficiency and repeatability in growth initiatives.

  • Ensure clear documentation of processes, workflows, and test learnings to maintain alignment and scalability across growth teams.

5- Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the key liaison with other departments, ensuring stakeholders stay informed of ongoing tests, outcomes, and upcoming initiatives.

  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships to align priorities, share insights, and maximize the impact of growth efforts across the organization.

  • Work directly with our customer facing teams to get input, as well as directly with customers to better understand their needs and spark new ideas for the business.

Requirements

What You Should Have:

  • You have experience as a Growth Product Manager for a technology product (preferably B2B SaaS) with a track record of driving growth and optimization.

  • Previous exposure to and understanding of product-led growth strategies, including alignment with Go-to-Market (GTM) teams.

  • Familiar with the onboarding and activation life cycle of PLG SaaS products

  • You have full ownership in your work and love a challenge. You are results-oriented with a focus on driving measurable outcomes.

  • A deep understanding of user-centered design principles and user experience best practices.

  • Ability to navigate high degree of ambiguity and drive complex projects forward, executing in a highly autonomous way

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate effectively with distributed cross-functional teams.

  • Data savvy - well versed with all tools and concepts (user research, market research, data analysis with SQL and analytic platforms, A/B testing etc.)

It's a bonus if you have any of the following:

  • Experience using Statsig, Customer.io, and tools like Hex

  • Startup background (e.g., you know how to wear a lot of hats)

  • Advanced SQL skills to tease out your own insights from the database without waiting for a Data Analyst
