Position Overview


The HR Manager is responsible for ALL HR-related activities for all functional areas of business. As the third member of the founding People team, this person will be instrumental in developing best practices for talent development, benefit management, employee relations, policy development and much more. Building a People function is hard but rewarding work. This requires managing a high capacity of initiatives while prioritizing work fiercely. You will work with employees at all levels of the organization. The needs of our teams vary significantly, and you will build agility along the way by developing your skills in a wide variety of HR initiatives and systems.


Requirements


  • Work collaboratively with the management team to create, support and drive a positive company culture through all departments
  • Develop and implement compliant HR programs and procedures across all areas of the company
  • Advise employees and managers on HR related policies, programs, and procedures
  • Research effectiveness of HR programs and propose improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve human resources effectiveness and operations
  • Support administration of the Company’s employee benefits programs, including interaction with outside professionals
  • Maintain employee records / files and compile reports concerning data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, attendance, etc.
  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings
  • Administer, process and evaluate company benefits
  • Ensure Federal and State compliance pertaining to all day to day HR activities, policies and procedures
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned


Education, Certifications and Licensure

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources preferred
  • SPHR/PHR Certification preferred


Minimum Technical Skills and Experience


  • Broad knowledge of HR generalist functions, including:
  • Implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Benefits administration
  • Compliant record keeping
  • Employee relations
  • Employment law and regulatory compliance
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills, including comfort with web-based applications
  • Thrives when performing job duties in a fast-paced environment; stays even-keeled during stressful times
  • Comfortable in a casual but fast-paced work environment
