Note: This is a full-time role based in San Diego, CA, or Washington, DC. This position is eligible to be remote for the right candidate. 

Clearance: Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance preferred but not required.

As a Director of Business Development for Accelint’s Mission and Tactical Software Solutions Business Segment, you will be at the forefront of our strategic growth efforts, shaping the future of CJADC2 capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense and allied partners. You will leverage your acquisition, engineering, and product delivery experience, particularly in CJADC2 software environments (tactical, operational, or strategic) to grow the Accelint business.

In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams—ranging from engineering, product design, and program management to supply chain, finance, and legal—to capture new business for Accelint’s Mission and Tactical Software Solutions Business segment. You will coordinate closely with sales enablement teams, ensuring our solutions are aligned with Department of Defense (DoD) opportunities. You will develop and execute a pipeline of opportunities, craft compelling proposals and technical narratives, shape pricing strategies, and lead proposal development.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Pipeline Development: Develop and qualify a robust pipeline of competitive and organic growth opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Proposal & Capture Leadership: Champion the development, coordination, and delivery and execution of major proposals, RFIs, RFPs, and white papers for DoD customers.
  • Strategy & Market Shaping: Qualify and pursue opportunities aligned with CJADC2 priorities, leveraging direct insight from PEOs and SYSCOMs within the Navy, Army, and Air Force, in addition to other DoD acquisition commands such as CDAO and DIU.
  • Content Generation & Narrative Development: Write and manage technical inputs on large, complex technical narratives and solicitations on tight timelines, crafting messages that resonate with government stakeholders.
  • Pricing & Business Case Creation: Refine strategic pricing models across our product lines, integrating engineering, program management, and financial analysis to deliver value propositions that stand apart from competitors.
  • Process Improvement: Establish, own, and continuously improve the proposal and capture management framework, ensuring efficiency, clarity, and repeatability in our approach.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with a diverse array of technical and business stakeholders—engineering, legal, finance, BD, sales enablement, product development and delivery — to accurately represent our technology and ensure seamless handoffs to product and delivery teams.

Required Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience in capturing and executing CJADC2-related opportunities (can be substituted with DoD civilian or Military acquisition experience).
  • DoD Acquisition Experience: Significant experience navigating the Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition process, to include both FAR based and Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) contracts. Significant experience interacting with PEOs or equivalent organizations in the planning and execution of major acquisition efforts related to CJADC2.
  • Writing & Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to produce large, complex documents under tight deadlines, coupled with strong oral communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Process Creation & Management: Aptitude for building and refining processes from the ground up, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and quality control in proposal and capture activities. Familiarity with Salesforce, enterprise business analytics tools.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Comfort: Proven success working with engineering, design, supply chain, finance, and other specialized teams to deliver cohesive narratives and solutions.
  • Network: Broad network of industry and government personnel to enable Accelint business capture and industry partnering.

Preferred Experience:

  • 10 years of relevant professional experience, with at least five years performing capture management for a small business(s).
  • Leadership experience in the management of a DoD software-intensive acquisition program, either in industry or government
  • Experience supporting NAVAIR programs or Army Tactical Operations Centers (TOCs).
  • Exposure to the following service career paths: Air Battle Management, Naval Aviator, Naval Flight Officer (NFO), Combat Information Center Officer (CICO)/Mission Commander (MC), Surface Warfare Officer (SWO), Army Air Defense Artillery Officer (ADAFCO), and Fires Support Coordinator (FSCOORD), Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO).
  • Experience with Combatant Command and Operational Command and Control such as the G3/G2, Maritime Operations Center (MOC), Air Operations Center (AOC), National Space Defense Center (NSDC), Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC)
  • Exposure to classified killchains like the Neptune series, Weapons School Integration, Red Flag, Northern Edge, Valliant Shield, Orange Flag, Air Force Weapons School (USAFWS), Navy Top Gun, Marines Weapons and Tactics Instructor (WTI), USSF Software Development Immersive (SDI).
  • Experience working with DoD stakeholders at all levels, including military leaders, program managers, and subject matter experts on Software Acquisition Pathway (SwAP) programs.
  • Demonstrated success in landing software products in a DoD environment, specifically Cloud Based Command and Control/Advanced Battle Management System (CBC2), Navy Combat Systems, Project Overmatch, Project Convergence, Next Generation Command and Control
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
