Position Summary:

The Commercialization Program Manager plays a key role in coordinating, planning, and driving commercial launch readiness, working directly with Product Marketing, Product Managers, and various Commercial stakeholders to plan and execute commercialization projects.
For this position, we are looking for the right candidate to help drive commercial launch readiness for clinical platform products at Illumina. This individual will represent Commercialization in the product Core Team and program manage a separate, matrix managed, Commercial team. This individual will work directly with Product Management and Marketing to plan and execute commercialization efforts, and will provide real-time guidance on process best-practices. Will also partner/collaborate with Service, Training, and Commercial Operations/Business Systems.

All About You

Responsibilities:
  • Provide program/project management oversight by leading a cross-functional team to plan and execute successful product commercialization efforts
  • Utilize project management tools to organize activities, track progress to targets, and deliver outputs to support product launches. Represent Commercialization and articulate commercialization needs & concerns to core teams
  • Communicate proactively with teams and stakeholders to ensure program goals are in alignment with business objectives
  • Identify critical business needs, Go-to-Customer requirements, drive improvements in business processes and systems to ensure commercial success
  • Characterize, resolve, or escalate commercial issues, facilitate trade-off decisions and actively manage commercial & marketing-related program risks
  • Actively participate as the Commercial representative on cross-functional Product Development projects
  • Assist with the development and implementation of critical business processes
  • Effectively & proactively communicate program status or updates to leadership, prepare phase gate review information, facilitate phase gate approvals
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Commercial or Program/Project Management roles , preferably with significant go-to-customer project experience
  • Experience in health care, medical device products, or other life science experience; IVD or CDx experience a plus
  • Deep understanding of go-to-customer and product commercialization processes
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills: ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and ability to collaborate across business and development areas to deliver business results
  • Experience with Atlassian Tools (Confluence, Jira) for project management
  • Experience with Microsoft Project (MS Project) for project management
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable creating and delivering presentations; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; ability to position initiatives, decisions, and outcomes to diverse audiences
  • Strong commitment to delivering a high-quality Customer Experience
  • Ability to adapt quickly to unique and changing program conditions/requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Marketing or Life Sciences or Computer Science, is required. MBA or advanced degree a plus.
Certifications:
  • PMP Certification is strongly desired

The estimated base salary range for the Senior Program Manager, Commercialization Excellence role based in the United States of America is: $103,500 - $155,300. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
