Business Development Manager

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to:

  • To play a strategic and operational role in developing “clients” business activities, as a member of Senior Management Team.
  • To develop new business relationships, services and products; and generate and negotiate new contracts for “client.”
  • To oversee the effective delivery of “client’s” business activities.
  • Lead and manage the RFP process, including creation, distribution, and follow-up with vendors.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with potential vendors, ensuring alignment with our client's requirements. Foster strong, ongoing relationships with a diverse range of vendors, negotiating terms and handling regular communications.
  • Manage the vendor selection process, conducting thorough evaluations to ensure the best fit for our client's needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary inputs for RFPs and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Engage with key stakeholders at various levels, both internally and externally, to ensure clear communication and effective management of expectations throughout the RFP process.
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance, maintaining high standards of service and quality.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and dynamics to continuously refine our vendor engagement strategy.

Key Tasks:

Strategic Direction

  • To work with the Deputy secretariate and Directors to devise and implement various business plans, reports, and forecasts for the short and longer term to enhance the external profile of “clients” business activities and maximize services benefits opportunities.
  • To take responsibility for “client’s” business plans and lead the staff team to ensure these are achieved.
  • To oversee the effective and efficient delivery of “client’s” business and activities including the monitoring of all related responsibilities.

Operational Direction

  • To take responsibility for bringing the Help at Home service to market and for managing this going forwards, including effective service delivery to agreed organization standards, staff management and budget management. •
  • Working with the Head of Operations, to take responsibility for developing agreed additional sustainable commercial activities (if exist).
  • To introduce new products and services to the external environment and take responsibility for direct selling and meeting targets.
  • To maintain effective relationships with “client’s” existing clients in order to retain business.
  • To present “client” to potential clients through communication in face-to-face meetings, telephone calls and emails.
  • To manage “the services and products” sales process actively and successfully: lead generation; credentials pitch; asking questions; solution pitch; negotiation; close.
  • To create and be accountable for all “client” proposals, contracts, and any further documentation, following “client’s” procedures.
  • To respond to tenders and requests for information in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and expand business operations toward performance efficiency.
  • Evaluating privatization opportunities to enhance service performance and reduce the operation cost.
  • Identifying and developing new initiatives of business based on customer needs.
  • Developing customer relationships and strengthening sector partnerships.
  • Performing benchmarks and business-related studies to introduce new initiatives, product, and services towards customer satisfaction.

General

  • To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff and volunteers in their development and training.
  • To undertake such other duties and training as may be reasonably required and which are commensurate with the nature and grading of the post.
  • To contribute to “client’s” Vision and Mission and strive to always exhibit the Values and Behaviors.
  • To comply with all legislative requirements, together with the policies and procedures of the organization and to ensure this is applied by staff and volunteers.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in business development, specializing in RFP management, vendor relations, and stakeholder management.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement principles.
  • Proven ability to negotiate effectively and build robust professional relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields. A master’s degree is preferable. Proficiency in both Arabic and English.
