Manufacturing Associate - Plastics

Salary: $60,000 - 70,000/year

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Associate to join our plastics production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical manufacturing processes, with hands-on experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in a manufacturing setting. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of plastic materials and components.


Responsibilities
  • Plastic Manufacturing Operations:
  • Operate and monitor plastic production equipment such as extrusion machines, injection molding machines, and other related systems.
  • Assist in the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of plastic manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure the production process adheres to safety standards and quality guidelines.
  • Chemical Process Management:
  • Monitor and adjust chemical processes involved in the plastic manufacturing process (e.g., compounding, mixing, or polymerization).
  • Conduct tests to monitor chemical and physical properties of the plastic products to ensure consistency with specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control team to address any product deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • PLC & Automation Support:
  • Operate and maintain PLC-based control systems for automated manufacturing processes.
  • Troubleshoot PLC issues, perform minor repairs, and work with the engineering team for more complex issues.
  • Conduct periodic system checks and ensure that automated processes run smoothly, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Document and report on process deviations and corrective actions taken.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and regulatory compliance standards in the workplace.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Participate in safety training and meetings.


Requirements
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, specifically in plastics production or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation systems is required.
  • Familiarity with plastic processing equipment (e.g., injection molding, extrusion) and chemical manufacturing techniques.
