We have a broad and quickly evolving platform, that includes a mix of people, process and software. We need a talented, ambitious product marketing manager to help us tell our products’ stories and help us build a category defining company.
As our first product marketing manager, you will partner closely with product, sales, design and growth marketing to craft our messaging & positioning, conduct market research, create sales collateral, and help execute our go-to-market strategy.
Partner with product and GTM to identify user research needs (interviews, surveys, user testing, market research) and translate research findings into actionable insights for product and marketing.
Craft and test compelling product messaging and positioning that aligns with Mainshares’ mission and resonates with target customers
Influence the product roadmap and GTM strategy by discovering and communicating user needs and effectively distilling feedback to cross-functional partners
Empower the sales teams with high quality collateral that effectively communicates product value (I.e sales decks, running professionalized webinars, and producing educational content)
Own product launches from start to finish, including messaging, collateral, and enablement for the sales team
Identify and execute opportunities such as conferences, partnerships, or press opportunities that help position Mainshares as the category leader
3+ years of experience in a B2B product marketing role on an early stage product
Experience with early-stage product marketing, utilizing techniques such as user research, surveys, win/loss analysis, and early-market testing.
A strong bias for action: You have a reputation among your peers for operating with a sense of urgency and getting things done
Excellent writing skills: You’re an effective storyteller, translating data and insights into compelling messaging and well-crafted collateral that resonates with each user persona
Excellent communication and collaboration skills: You’re comfortable collaborating with partners and stakeholders across sales, marketing, product, ops and beyond
A strong design eye: You have experience creating compelling and polished sales and marketing collateral with the help of design templates and occasional design support
You are comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where you’re expected to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
You are driven by mission. You believe in the importance of small business ownership to our country.
Past early-stage (seed to Series B) startup experience, with an understanding of the right-sized level of process and perfection to chase
Past exposure marketing products for SMBs, fintech, and/or marketplaces
