This is a position in the Department of Neurology and Division of Neuroimmunology and Neuroinfectious diseases. The individual will serve in a hybrid role, combining responsibilities of a clinical research coordinator (CRC) with those of a laboratory technician. On the laboratory side, the candidate will perform critical functions such as mouse colony management, including breeding and genotyping; behavioral scoring of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE); assisting with or performing surgical procedures in mice; and processing immune tissues for downstream analyses, including flow cytometry. In parallel, the role includes typical CRC duties such as study coordination, consenting, data collection, and regulatory support for clinical research protocols.


 

Job Summary

Following established policies, procedures, and study protocols, provides assistance on clinical research studies, including recruiting, evaluating, and consenting patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits. Moreover, the candidate will perform basic laboratory techniques involving cell culture and mouse work.

Essential Functions:
-Reviews proposals for compliance with sponsor and organizational guidelines; verify all sponsor requirements are met.
-Recruiting patients for clinical trials, conducts phone.
-Verifies the accuracy of study forms and updates them per protocol.
-Prepares data for analysis and data entry.
-Documents patient visits and procedures.
-Assists with regulatory binders and QA/QC Procedures.
-Assists with interviewing study subjects.
-Assists with study regulator submissions.


 

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree of Science required with laboratory courses.

Some relevant research project work, 0-1 year preferred.

-Ability to perform basic laboratory techniques, including cell culture. Experience with flow cytometry is not required but preferred.
