Staff Visual Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Staff Visual Designer to join our Brand Experiences Team at Tinder. In this crucial role, you will lead the charge in building our brand through exceptional product experiences. Your focus will be on creating meaningful digital moments that resonate with our users, leveraging interactive design principles to foster brand love and advocacy. You will shape user experiences that underscore our commitment to fostering genuine connections and ensure our brand expression is consistent both inside and outside the product.

Where you’ll work:



This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration two times per week. This position is located in West Hollywood and/or San Francisco, California. Please include your preferred location in your application.


In this role, you will:
  • Drive key design initiatives that significantly enhance user experiences and elevate our brand within the product. 
  • Develop and implement interactive design strategies that create memorable and meaningful digital moments. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, engineers, marketers, and executives—to ensure cohesive brand expression. 
  • Oversee a team of designers, providing guidance, inspiration, and fostering an environment of growth and excellence. 
  • Champion user-centric design principles and advocate for the highest standards of aesthetic intelligence across all projects. Shape the evolution of Tinder’s visual design system, ensuring cohesive and scalable design elements across the product. 
  • Provide insights and connect various initiatives across different pillars to ensure consistency and alignment with our brand vision. 
  • Present design concepts to senior leadership and incorporate feedback to refine and enhance our product experiences. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our design systems, ensuring they enable efficient and consistent work across teams. 
  • Keep abreast of industry developments to integrate best practices and innovative approaches into our design process. Stay ahead of visual design trends, bringing fresh ideas and a creative perspective to the team. 
  • Ensure that our brand's expression outside the product matches the exceptional experiences within it.


You’ll need:
  • 7+ years in visual, interactive, or product design with a strong portfolio showcasing product-led brand building especially a focus on digital products or consumer platforms. 
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers to achieve exceptional results. 
  • Deep understanding of interactive principles and how to create engaging digital experiences that build brand affinity. 
  • Expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools. 
  • Strong communication skills, capable of presenting and justifying design decisions to stakeholders at all levels. 
  • A strong desire to learn about users, technology, and new ways of enhancing human connections, with an empathetic approach to design. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work within a matrix organization and across cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience working within and contributing to a design system, ensuring consistency across all visual touch points. 
  • Comfort navigating complex organizational structures and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

$140,000 - $160,000 a year
Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
