Job Description

The Opportunity: 

The Associate Marketing Manager (AMM), Global Barbie Brand Marketing will be working on the Global Barbie Brand Team. 

Keys to success will be strong organizational skills with attention to detail, excellent communication skills (including written communication and oral presentations to small and large audiences), a can-do attitude, a passion for pop culture, fashion, arts and entertainment, and adaptive capacity. Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills are also crucial for success in this role. The individual must be analytical/financial oriented yet still think creatively, a strong executor, a self-starter with the ability to toggle between multiple projects, able to support and motivate cross-functional teams with compelling vision and strategy and resourceful in handling project roadblocks.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Ensure all product marketing projects are supported by business strategy, objectives and insights
  • Support communications with regional commercial marketing teams, which includes:
    • Updating regional marketing teams and lines of business regularly to ensure needs are being met
    • Support development global marketing campaigns for execution at a local level
  • Work closely with the Product Design, Packaging and Development teams to bring innovative and compelling toys to market on time and on budget backed by Consumer Insights
  • Collaborate with Manager, Global Marketing in gaining buy-in for global product strategies at all levels, as well as executional commitment from internal partners to activate across key markets and key lines of business
  • Prepare for and deliver presentations that convey a strategic message to large audiences.  Present with confidence to drive brand strategy and products
  • Brief and develop marketing assets
  • Monitor key trends, brands and competitors’ performance in all markets
  • Lead global business reporting and analysis
  • Work with other Mattel Global Brand teams to continuously share plans and establish ‘best practices’
  • Take initiative to clarify ever-changing business needs and challenges, and work appropriately with team and cross-functional partners to find solutions

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • 5+ years (2 years with MBA) experience in marketing, preferably in product development
  • Experience with company/product/marketing that is rooted in consumer trends
  • Experience analyzing data and managing financials
  • Ability to synthesize data and pull insights to create recommendations
  • Strong skills presenting in front of large groups
  • Highly organized, adaptable to autonomy and detail oriented with strong follow up skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, planning and project execution skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid collaborative relationships
  • Strong PowerPoint creation and presentation skills, proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Must be comfortable working in a demanding, challenging, and dynamic environment with a knack for embracing ambiguity and change, while focusing on solutions and best paths forward

The annual base salary range for this position is between $115,000 and $125,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
