If you want to advance your career and contribute to our vision of creating healthier communities, now and for generations to come, we want you to be a part of our team.Job SummaryPosition responsible for retrieval, filing, compiling, verifying and completion process of the medical record.Position must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of Health Information Management as it relates to the electronic and hybrid medical record.Job DescriptionLocation: Jones PavilionAddress: 6411 Fannin Houston, TX 77030Shift: Wednesday to Saturday 7AM to 5:30PM (4 days, 10 hour shift)Minimum QualificationsEducation: Associates Degree in Health Information Management (HIM) preferredLicenses/Certifications: (None)Experience / Knowledge / Skills:• One (1) year of general office duties preferably in Health Information Management• Ability to follow oral and written instructions• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Excellent computer skills requiredPrincipal Accountabilities• Performs the filing and retrieving of medical records to include reviews for patient care, release and regulatory reviews.• Performs the completion, auditing and retrieval processes of the medical records.• Keeps commitments, works with integrity and maintains the confidentiality of the patient's medical record.• Balances team and individual responsibilities.• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.• Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
