The Role:
Monarch is seeking a Principal, Business Operations to join our Operations team during a period of hyper-growth. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff and Head of Operations, you will drive critical cross-functional initiatives, operational excellence, and strategic decision-making across the company. This is a highly visible role that requires a mix of analytical horsepower, project management skills, and a strong ability to influence business decisions.
What You’ll Do:
Own and lead high-priority, cross-functional initiatives that drive business performance, operational efficiency, and strategic growth
Design and implement scalable processes to improve how we plan, execute, and measure key business priorities
Partner with senior leaders across departments (Product, Finance, Marketing, etc.) to drive clarity and alignment on goals, KPIs, and execution plans
Develop business cases, operational models, and strategic frameworks to support executive decision-making
Step into operational gaps and roll up your sleeves when needed — from leading a new process rollout to owning special projects
Support the Chief of Staff on strategic planning, quarterly OKR processes, executive communications, and board materials
What You’ll Bring:
5-7 years of experience in business operations, management consulting, strategy, or similar roles at a high-growth company or fast-paced environment
Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects from idea to execution with minimal oversight
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills — you're comfortable in Excel/Google Sheets, can build a model when needed, and can translate numbers into action
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (both verbal and written)
Bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and a no-task-too-small mentality
A systems thinker who can also get in the weeds when needed
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience within a high growth startup environment within the B2C/SAAS space
Nice to Have’s:
Experience in a startup or scaling company environment
Familiarity with tools like Notion, Linear, Omni Analytics (or similar BI/analytics tools)
