Together, we'll continue to create and deliver content that reflects the current and ever-changing face of the world.Job DescriptionWMAQ-TV, the NBCUniversal station in Chicago is looking for a Sports Anchor/Reporter to be responsible for gathering information on many current sports events, games and personalities and preparing the information for live on-air broadcast presentation. Responsibilities include providing anchored sports segment(s) for newscasts. Will function in Sports Anchor and Reporter roles, both for on-air and on Station's web site, or another digital platform as assigned. Will work within a strong team environment.Qualifications• Minimum of 4 years television news anchor/reporter experience covering Sports.• BA or BS in Journalism, Communications or related field.• This is an AFTRA-union represented position. If not now a member, membership will be required upon hire.Desired Qualifications:• Very knowledgeable of all Chicago sports teams and personnel• Must be able to work varied work schedules during the week and work weekends when needed.• Must have strong speech skills to communicate and present effectively on-air during live broadcasts, during breaking news situations and able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, individually as well as with co-anchors.• Must have excellent interviewing skills.• Must be able to handle working under the pressure of intense deadlines on a regular basis.• Must have excellent computer skills and ability to work with a variety of computer applications.Additional Requirements:• Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.• Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV online to be considered for this position.• Must be able to travel and work longer hours with short notice when necessary.• Must be willing to work in Chicago, IL.Additional InformationAs part of our selection process, external candidates may be required to attend an in-person interview with an NBCUniversal employee at one of our locations prior to a hiring decision.
