ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a ‘Consultant’ to support our International

Consulting practice in helping clients from the sports and entertainment business find the

right answers to any type of commercial challenge.


The position holder will work on projects in Germany and on an international level, in close

collaboration with other consultants and the commercial team across Europe, the Middle

East, and the Americas. This position will be a great fit for a committed, responsible and

collaborative individual with an understanding and appreciation of the European sports

business. They should also have a passion for strategic planning, data analysis, and its

application in consulting, and a commitment to do top-class management consulting work.

The role will be based in Cologne; we encourage everyone to work from there to learn from

and connect with colleagues. However, we have adopted a flexible working approach and

therefore the opportunity to work from home is available for those wanting to do so.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support with consulting projects and client deliverables.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the consulting team to jointly deliver high-quality work to our clients on various projects related to rights holders’ commercial strategies, media rights, fan development, and brands’ sponsorship planning.
  • Conduct independent analysis of internal and external data sets, drawing out insights and producing recommendations and strategies.
  • Developing and delivering compelling presentations to effectively communicate project results to clients and key stakeholders
  • Lead or contribute to project teams, ensuring the successful execution of consulting engagements. Define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables. Monitor progress and manage client expectations. Build productive day-to-day relationships with clients.
  • Develop strong client relationships – we are a non-hierarchical team and believe in all consultants engaging regularly with our clients.
  • Become a trusted advisor and collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and needs. Continue your professional development.
  • Keep up to date with trends in the sports and entertainment industries.
  • Use Nielsen’s broad range of learning and development resources to further your commercial expertise.
  • Support team planning and process management.


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, sports management, marketing, or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in data-driven strategy & AMP management consulting
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Ability to think creatively, and strategically as well as apply data to problem-solve
  • Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fluency in German and English (written and spoken)
  • A passion for sport, and an interest in the commercial business of sport
