Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Operations Analyst, Plan Loading to join our Benefit Configuration team.

About the role

The Operations Analyst, Plan Loading supports incoming projects and work designed to improve the consistency, accuracy, and efficiency of system configuration. Through collaboration with stakeholders in the organization and gaining an understanding of Oscar’s platform capabilities, this role ensures information is loaded accurately and efficiently, all while furthering the mission of Oscar: making healthcare more affordable for all.

You will report to the Senior Operations Manager, Benefit Configuration.

Work Location:

Oscar is a blended work culture where everyone, regardless of work type or location, feels connected to their teammates, our culture and our mission.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $60,000 - $78,750 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $54,000 - $70,875 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of designs, builds, and configuration workflows and utilize this knowledge to develop insights into opportunities for workflow improvements.
  • Understand aggregated configuration data to identify updates required and to measure the impact of any changes on internal operations and existing configuration 
  • Load configuration data into the core system accurately and in a timely manner
  • Leverage internal tools and technical processes, in particular database querying and benefit configuration concepts.
  • Build SQL queries and translate technical analyses into easily digestible communications to a nontechnical audience
  • Perform detailed oriented work with a high level of accuracy and adherence to all QA/QC protocols
  • Identify and report on any data/data infrastructure gaps, deficiencies, or irregularities
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of working knowledge of health plan benefit concepts (e.g., deductibles and other forms of cost sharing, etc.).
  • 1+ years of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and/or comparable programs within the Google Docs Editors suite (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides). 
  • 1+ years of experience manipulating and analyzing large data sets using excel or a similar database language to solve business problems
  • Proficiency in SQL

Bonus Points

  • A bachelor’s degree or 4 years commensurate experience 
  • Working knowledge of medical coding concepts (e.g., CPT, HCPCs and ICD-10 coding)

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits including: medical, dental, and vision benefits, 11 paid holidays, paid sick time, paid parental leave, 401(k) plan participation, life and disability insurance, and paid wellness time and reimbursements.
