At Pareto.AI, we’re on a mission to enable top talent around the world to participate in the development of cutting-edge AI models.

In coming years, AI models will transform how we work and create thousands of new AI training jobs for skilled talent around the world. We’ve joined forces with top AI and crowd researchers at Anthropic, Character.AI, Imbue, Stanford, and UPenn to build a fair and ethical platform for AI developers to collaborate with domain experts to train bespoke AI models.

As a fully remote and global venture-backed startup headquartered in San Francisco, we have a 20-member core team and a 150-member operations team. 

About this role

As the Chief of Staff at Pareto, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's strategic initiatives and ensuring operational excellence. Working closely with our Founder, Phoebe Yao, and area leads, you will help shape company culture, streamline processes, and facilitate effective communication across all levels of the organization.

You will be the right hand to our Founder, enabling her to focus on scaling the business by handling critical day-to-day operations, managing key projects, and serving as a liaison between departments. Your contributions will be instrumental in Pareto’s achievement of our mission and goals.

What you’ll do:

  • Be the right hand to our Founder, enabling her to focus on scaling the business by handling critical day-to-day operations, managing key projects, and serving as a liaison between departments 

  • Build and run Pareto’s operational excellence system by defining processes and building operational infrastructure across our entire organization

  • Diagnose and ensure accountability for Pareto’s objectives by partnering with teams to set KPIs and achieve their goals 

What you’ll need:

  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate

  • 3+ years of experience in management consulting and/or running ops in a startup 

  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects and driving teams towards operational excellence

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take initiative

  • Proficiency with project management tools

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in both management consulting and a high growth startup

  • Familiarity with the AI industry

  • Proficiency with our specific project management tools: Coda, Linear

  • Experience with fundraising and investor relations

You’ll really stand out if you have:
