Spur Founding Engineer - Full Stack

Spur is founded by 2 Yale Alums, Ex-Figma & DeepMind. We are backed by leading investors (YCombinator, First Round Capital, Neo, Pear VC, Conviction). We are transforming the testing world, completely re-imagining automations from first principles. Founding Engineer / FullStack

As our first engineering hire, you will have unparalleled autonomy to architect solutions, drive technical decisions, build culture, and bring innovative features to life for our customers. You'll own the entire development lifecycle—from ideation, to deployment, to marketing—working across our full technology stack to ship and communicate features to our customers.

As a founding engineer you will be:

  • Building across the full stack and help shape product direction.

  • Launching new features, speaking directly with customers to gather feedback, iterating quickly.

  • Working with design team to iterate on features

  • Owning parts of the product end-to-end

  • Active Role in planning our roadmap every 4 months

You’ll be successful in this role if you…

  • Are relentlessly customer focused. We believe in delighting our users

    • How can we make this feature as delightful and magical for the end-user?

  • Are curious. You will be dealing with a lot of new technology and challenges every day as we scale—you should be comfortable learning new frameworks on the fly, and in communicating this knowledge to the team.

  • Have very strong technical experience with Typescript / Next-JS front-end frameworks.

Bonus:

  • Prior experience as a founder or founding engineer.

  • Knowledge about the web—you’ve built scrapers, or played around with browsers, javascript, bots, and captchas in the past.

  • Have built LLM-powered products.

    • Keep up with the latest developments in AI and Agents.

  • Experience with Typescript, React, TailwindCSS, Tan-stack Query, Python

  • Passionate about developer tools and sweat the small details that transform both developer and customer experiences

  1. 24 Hour Take-Home Challenge ⚔️

  4. Paid 1 Week trial period in NYC office, where we will work together to determine if it’s a fit. Trial pay will be at market rate to compensate for your time.
