About the role:Sitting within our Customer and Cultural Insights team this role will involve conducting research and analysis to understand consumer behaviour, attitudes, and motivations, within the education sector and regarding Pearson's products and services, and will focus on generating actionable insights to guide business decisions across Pearson's operations. As an individual contributor, this role does not involve managing direct reports however you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate consumer insights into strategic initiatives.Responsibilities:Research Design & Execution:• Design and execute primary research studies (e.g., surveys, interviews, diary studies/ethnographies, focus groups) using appropriate methodologies.• Manage and conduct online and in-person qualitative research, including recruitment, discussion guide development, programming, scheduling, moderating, and platform management.• Plan, write, and program survey instruments; field and manage quantitative studies.• Manage and analyze secondary data sources (e.g., market research reports, syndicated data) relevant to the education industry.Insight Generation & Communication:• Analyze qualitative data, including transcripts, recordings, and notes, to identify key themes and insights.• Apply statistical analysis techniques to interpret quantitative data and draw meaningful conclusions.• Synthesize research findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights that address Pearson's business challenges.• Develop compelling presentations, reports, and workshops to communicate insights to stakeholders across different lines of business within Pearson.• Effectively visualize data (qual and quant) to tell a story and drive understanding of Pearson's customers & consumers.Project Management:• Manage multiple research projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.• Collaborate with internal and external partners (e.g., research agencies, vendors) to execute research initiatives.What we are looking for:• 3+ years of experience in consumer insights, market research, or a related field, ideally with some exposure to the education sector.• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and tools.• Proficiency in Qualtrics or other survey platforms/software, Dscout or other qualitative research platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.• Quantitative analysis of survey results and interpreting statistical results.• Demonstrated experience with qualitative research methods, including conducting interviews, analyzing transcripts, and facilitating group discussions.• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.• Detail oriented: high standard of data quality and accuracy.• Knowledge of consumer behaviour principles and market research trends.Highly desirable:• Experience with B2B research methods• Research agency experience• Experience working with diverse populations and understanding cultural nuances in learning.• Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).• Familiarity with Pearson's products and services.Location: This vacancy is remote.Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
