JOB SUMMARY

The Internal Communications Manager for the People, Operations, and Senior Leadership teams is a strategic, creative communicator tasked with enhancing employee understanding and engagement with company-wide programs and initiatives in a remote work environment. This role requires a deep understanding of HR functions, business acumen, strong storytelling skills, and proficiency in digital communication tools to deliver cohesive messaging that resonates with a diverse, remote workforce. It combines elements of marketing, communications, and employee engagement to drive awareness, participation, and excitement for HR offerings and company-wide business initiatives among a fully remote workforce.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Develop and Execute Communication Strategies:

  • Design and implement internal communications and marketing strategies that drive awareness and understanding of the company strategy, values, programs and initiatives 
  • Establish consistent communication channels to reach remote employees across various time zones and locations.
  • Deliver messages in a simple way that different audiences digest and understand. 

Create Compelling Content:

  • Craft clear, engaging content for various internal platforms, including emails, newsletters, Notion pages, Slack, webinars, and video updates.
  • Simplify complex company policies and program details into relatable, accessible messaging.
  • Support the leadership team with the content for company and division-wide All-Hands and town hall meetings.

Plan and Launch Campaigns:

  • Collaborate with various divisions and stakeholders to design and execute campaigns around key internal initiatives 
  • Partner with the senior leadership to communicate the company’s strategy and OKR progress.
  • Coordinate campaign schedules to maintain a consistent flow of information and engagement.

Measure and Report on Communication Impact:

  • Track metrics and analyze communication effectiveness, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Adjust strategies based on engagement data to optimize future initiatives.

Ensure Alignment with Company Culture and Values:

  • Tailor communication approaches to align with and promote the company's values, mission, and culture.
  • Serve as a cultural ambassador, ensuring all HR-related communications reinforce a cohesive, inclusive remote workplace experience.

Leverage Digital Tools and Platforms:

  • Utilize tools like Notion, Slack, G-Suite, and video conferencing to enhance communication and engagement across time zones.
  • Ensure all employees, regardless of location or schedule, can easily access information and interact with each other.

   

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing,  internal communications, HR communications, or related roles, ideally in a remote or hybrid work setting.
  • Experience in working in an international remote environment 
  • Strong writing and content creation skills with a knack for storytelling and simplification of complex information.
  • Familiarity with communication metrics and data analysis to evaluate campaign success.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools, such as Google Suite, Slack, Notion, Loom/Video or other similar platforms that engage a remote workforce
  • Visual design skills are a plus for creating engaging, on-brand content and media assets.
  • Competencies: Excellent organizational skills, creativity, adaptability, empathy, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
