OS Patching and Systems Administrator

The OS Patching and Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of our IT infrastructure by managing and applying operating system patches and updates. This role involves monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with security policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patch Management: Plan, schedule, and apply OS patches and updates across all systems to ensure they are secure and up-to-date.
  • System Monitoring: Monitor system performance and availability, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure all systems comply with security policies and standards, conducting regular audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Systems Administration: Manage and maintain Active Directory aspects (including create, tshot and  maintain GPOs, upgrades etc)
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, providing technical support to end-users.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, patching activities, and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to support various projects and initiatives.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in system administration and patch management
  • Proficiency in Windows and\or Linux operating systems
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and security practices
  • Experience with patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM, BigFix)
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) will be preferred
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
