The Growth Portfolio Director is responsible for working closely with the Growth Leadership team to drive Point B’s success across their portfolio of strategic customers. The role is responsible for growing and managing sales and offering development for specific functional areas (CIO, CMO, CFO, CHRO) across industries by partnering with a cross-functional team throughout the sales and delivery life cycles. This role is pivotal in driving our business forward by identifying and qualifying client opportunities, acting as a trusted advisor for C-suite level buyers, crafting tailored solutions for client proposals, leading pursuit teams, and delivering compelling presentations to executive teams. The Growth Portfolio Director is also responsible for defining adjacent industry-specific offerings, producing thought leadership, and supporting demand generating activities.   

 

The Growth Portfolio Director will bring deep commercial, functional (CIO, CMO, CFO, CHRO), product or service (Process Automation, Managed Service, Hybrid Cloud, IT Strategy, Digital Transformation) and technical skill set to lead commercial channels. The Growth Portfolio Director is a proven cross-industry functional domain leader (CIO, CMO, CFO, CHRO) with specific product or service expertise (Managed Service, Hybrid Cloud, Tech / Digital Transformation, Process Automation).  

 

The ideal candidate for this role will have expertise in the Life Sciences Industry and Process Automation domain.  They will apply knowledge of various technology platforms, functional strategies (CIO, COO, CFO), data strategies, and experience strategies to enhance proposal strength. The Growth Portfolio Director brings C-suite relationships and leading practice domain depth and is an advisor to senior leaders about trends, challenges, and business opportunities. The Growth Portfolio Director internalizes, upholds and models our leadership and culture tenets in all interactions internally and externally. The Growth Portfolio Director will contribute to growing client relationships across the Life Sciences industry.  


WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:  

Life Sciences Leadership & Subject Matter Expertise: 

Apply Life Sciences expertise at various stages in the product and device lifecycle: research, pre-commercial, commercial -- pharma, device, biotech, immunotherapy or gene therapy 

Provide Life Sciences coaching, enablement and sales support for Growth and Delivery Teams 

Leverage Life Sciences network to identify new leads and sales opportunities to grow Point B’s Life Sciences portfolio 

Automation Offering Design, Implementation & Sales Leadership: 

Lead the development and implementation of the Process Automation Offering in partnership with other Growth and Delivery Leaders, incorporating automation technology to architect proposals and solutions. 

Lead process simulation & modeling efforts, including designing and building digital models and process simulations to support client conversations, proposals and value realization  

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand process inefficiencies and recommend automation solutions aligned with business goals. 

Support Process Automation Offering development strategy based on known and observed customer needs with focus on market trends, technology trends, and other macroeconomic factors   

Actively engage in development of thought leadership related to process automation including contributing to publication of articles and participating in conference panels and speaking events.   

Establish and track KPIs for process automation solutions and simulations to measure efficiency, quality, and cost savings. 

Serves as escalation point for Point B Growth and Delivery leaders on process automation sales activities 

Ultimately accountable for meeting sales and growth targets across Process Automation Offering 

Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory: 

Provide strategic advisory services to executive leadership on process automation solutions and roadmaps. 

Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to align process changes with business transformation goals. 

Develop and deliver training programs to upskill business units on automated solutions and process models. 

Team Enablement: 

Build and nurture employees on the Point B Team in line with our Point B values  

Coach, develop and support Growth and Delivery colleagues, engage in Point B people processes, including performance management, compensation decisions, promotions, etc.

WHAT WE EXPECT YOU’VE ALREADY DONE:     

Proven experience as a Product Owner /Product Strategist and/or Consulting Director/ Jr. Partner / Principal / Partner or similar role within a technology or consulting environment.  

Experience as a solution architect in industry or consulting industry.  

Strong technical acumen with a comprehensive understanding of a functional strategy, operational strategy, technology, and data. 

Exceptional ability to create and deliver compelling presentations and slide decks to executive audiences.  

Excellent public speaking and persuasive communication skills.  

Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical details into clear business benefits.  

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Services, or a related field.  

Master of Business Administration (or equivalent) 

Life Sciences industry experience in Operations, R&D, Technology, Trial Management, Manufacturing, etc.  

Previous consulting experience in a client-facing role.  

Post graduate certification or coursework relating to storytelling for management consulting or industrial consulting. Examples include: The Consultant’s Toolkit from Harvard Business School, Graduate Certificate in Management Consulting from Penn State, Presentation Design and Delivery from Cornell.   

Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methods   


Qualifications: 

Experience: 10+ years of experience in process automation, process simulation, and digital transformation, with at least 5 years in consulting (Big 4 experience preferred). 

Life Sciences Expertise: 

Proven Life Sciences industry leadership, for a minimum of 10 years 

Breadth of business experience in a regulated, scientific environment including working knowledge of:  R&D, sales/marketing, supply chain, operations, and technology   

Depth of experience in at least two of the following areas:  market feasibility, commercial readiness, product launch, market access, commercial technologies, supply management, or inspection readiness  

Working knowledge of key regulatory requirements and agencies   

Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with Automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, UiPath, Blue Prism, Celonis, ARIS, Signavio). 

Simulation Experience: Proficiency in process modeling, digital twins, and predictive simulations (e.g., Simul8, Monte Carlo, discrete event simulations, Simio). 

Data Proficiency: Knowledge of AI/ML applications for automation 

Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams through change management and transformation initiatives. 

Consulting Skills: Strong background in client-facing roles, with experience in advising C-suite leaders on process automation strategies. 

Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value. 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). 

Preferred Certifications: 

RPA certifications (e.g., UiPath Advanced Developer, Blue Prism Developer, Power Automate Developer) 

BPM or Process Mining certifications (e.g., Celonis Analyst, ARIS Business Process Modeler) 

Lean Six Sigma or PMP certification

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: 

The estimated salary range for this role is $153,500 - $255,500 USD per year. This salary range is provided as required by local and state law as applicable. Individual salaries vary on a number of factors including but not limited to geography, skills, education, experience and unique qualifications where applicable.  

 

Bonuses are awarded at Point B’s discretion and are based upon individual contributions and overall firm performance.
