Our technology also powers Branded Editions (BE) - a white-label solution that enables publishers to deliver their digital content in interactive ways. BE allows them to build a customizable platform that supports a wide range of revenue opportunities.

We have an opportunity for the Head of Global Business Development to join our Branded Editions team

As the Head of Global Business Development, Branded Editions, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategic plan to drive global expansion and achieve or exceed revenue targets, focusing on building a strong sales pipeline through driving exponential growth stemming from marquee and mid-size clients, and key markets. This role involves negotiating and closing high-value deals, ensuring smooth onboarding processes, and fostering long-term client relationships to meet renewal goals. Additionally, the position requires close collaboration with internal teams to successfully launch new projects and secure opportunities for expanded white-label solutions. This role will represent the department at industry events, leveraging networking to generate leads, deepen market connections, contribute to product development and strengthen the company's offerings.

In this role, you will deliver some Key Responsibilities, which include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan to drive global business development and achieve revenue targets.
  • Build and manage a robust new sales pipeline, focusing on driving exponential growth stemming from marquee and mid-size clients, and key markets.
  • Negotiate and close deals, ensuring smooth onboarding and long-term client success.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to manage new projects to launch.
  • Nurture existing clients and achieve renewal targets.
  • Identify and secure new opportunities for expanded white-label solutions.
  • Coach and manage business development managers to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Represent PressReader Branded Editions at relevant industry events and conferences, building relationships and generating leads through travel and networking.
  • Share market and client insights to influence product development and strengthen our offerings.
  • Perform any other duties and projects as assigned by your supervisor.

You are a great fit if you have the following competencies:

  • A self-motivated, ambitious leader who thrives in a fast-paced growth-oriented environment.
  • Possess 10+ years solid experience and proven success in SaaS, technology sales, or digital publishing.
  • Experience in selling across multiple regions with a deep understanding of cultural differences.
  • Passion for sales, with a strategic approach to pipeline development and customer lifecycle management.
  • Ability to communicate fluently and professionally in English.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel with advance and/or short notice to support client’ relationships and business development.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and a data-driven approach to sales strategy.

 

Bonus points if you have:

  • Professional working proficiency in a second language (e.g. German, French, Italian, Spanish or others).
  • Interested in digital media, analytics, or advertising.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field.

Salary/On-Target Earnings is just one component of PressReader’s Total Rewards package. PressReader is committed to providing a fair compensation package and investing in the holistic health and wellbeing of all Pressies and their families. Our total rewards package includes, but is not limited to:

Compensation: Base Salary (CAD$100,000 – CAD$120,000pa) + Commissions (based on sales performance) + Benefits (as below).

Vacation Days: All new hires will start with 15 vacation days, progressive adjustments based on tenure.

Wellness Days: All Pressies will have 6 wellness days to take care of their wellness and get recharged.

Hybrid Work Environment: Employees located within the Vancouver Lower Mainland area come to the office two (2) days a week.

Comprehensive Extended Health, Dental, Vision & Insurances: We provide competitive coverage for health, dental, vision benefit plan, life and accidental death and dismemberment insurances.

Training Subsidy: $1,200 annual training subsidy to support your technical skills and professional growth.

Professional Membership Reimbursement: we are proud to support you to continue maintaining your professional designation and credentials.

Fitness Subsidy: We provide $200 per year for our Pressies to improve their fitness and wellbeing.
