Electrical Controls Designer/Drafter

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer for one of our manufacturing clients in Ashland, Va. This employer offers competitive salaries, benefits, and time off. The Electrical Designer will be key in designing new and existing products. He/she will use Autocad Electrical to design electrical drawings, control systems, and schematics for heavy industrial electro-mechanical equipment.


Starting pay of $65,000/Annual pay


Job Responsibilities:
  • Create electrical drawings, control systems, and schematics for heavy industrial electro-mechanical equipment using Autocad Electrical.
  • Design and implement industrial motor control systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Utilize knowledge of AC and DC motors and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to optimize equipment performance.
  • Adhere to National Electrical Code (NEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) guidelines in all design activities.
  • Provide technical support during the manufacturing process, troubleshooting electrical systems as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of design specifications, revisions, and project progress.


Requirements:
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting/Design, CADD, or a similar field
  • 3+ years of experience creating electrical drawings and schematics using Autocad Electrical
  • Experience with industrial motor control systems
  • Experience in manufacturing for electro-mechanical products/ equipment
  • Experience with both AC and DC motors and VFD's
  • Familiar with NEC and UL guidelines
