Role
Rebag is currently hiring for a passionate buyer to join the Buying team. As a buyer for Rebag, the ideal candidate would have experience in luxury goods, exposure to the resale market and an understanding of pricing. This role is not a traditional buying position but more of a conventional approach to buying as there is a heavy focus on analytics. The role reports to the Director of Buying.
Responsibilities
- Researching: Assist the buying team with research for our six categories; Handbags, Accessories, Watch, Jewelry, Shoes and Apparel. The information they gather is vital to decision-making. Understanding luxury market and having sound knowledge about different luxury brands and their seasonal collections is important function of this role as well
- Pricing: Understanding how resale pricing for luxury goods work. Researching market trends and resale market price comps. Working extensively on our client submissions and learning how to recognize high end designer, trends, models and SKUs from our data base as well as site search. Determining based on market research, the buying price and resale price and establishing margin based on that.
- General Buying: Organizing various buying process guides, team learnings and buying documents. Performing buying support duties such as updating data, exporting and tracking files, respond to general buying enquiries from other departments etc.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of Buying Experience in fashion brands or department stores
- Highly quantitative and comfortable using spreadsheets, excel and doing retail math
- Need to have a strong sense of team as you will be working closely with other buyers so being positive and ability to take feedback well is important
- Being able to organize and multi task is important. Buying has multiple tasks that needs to be completed efficiently throughout the day/week
- Should be research minded and detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while maintaining a positive, ownership focused mindset
- Ability to operate fully remotely and digitally
- Ability to work from home in a professional and rigorous way
- Excellent English in both verbal and written communications
- Ownership mentality, highly organized, detail-oriented, and ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability and willingness to quickly and efficiently adapt in a rapidly changing start-up environment
- Long term commitment and grow with the company
