Compliance Auditor I

Job Summary:

As a Compliance Auditor I at REE Medical, you will play a key role in ensuring our organization complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will be responsible for performing routine audits, tracking compliance metrics, providing valuable insights to enhance compliance processes, and identifying areas for improvement to mitigate compliance risks. A successful Compliance Auditor I is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to management, all while maintaining a proactive mindset ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

What is expected in this role:

  • Conducting internal audits to assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
    • Ensuring the protection of personally identifiable information (PII) and personal health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA laws.
  • Identifying areas of non-compliance or potential compliance risks and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance tracking and reporting systems.
  • Monitoring changes in regulations and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
    • Contributing to the generation of compliance-related reports and dashboards, providing insights on performance and areas for development.
  • Supporting Compliance Manager in developing and delivering compliance training programs to educate employees.
  • Assisting in the review and development of compliance policies and procedures related to auditing, monitoring, and risk management.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance in standard processes, new initiatives and projects.
  • Participating in compliance investigations and support the resolution of compliance-related issues.

How Success in Measured in this Role:

  • Accuracy of Audit Results: Precision and thoroughness in conducting audits and reporting findings. This also includes the # of calls monitored per week.
  • Effectiveness in Monitoring Metrics: Ability to monitor compliance metrics and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Contribution to Policy and Process Improvement: Effectiveness in supporting policy development and process enhancements.
  • Quality of Training Support: Success in assisting with compliance training and stakeholder communication.

What you need in this role to be successful:

  • 1-3 years of experience in compliance, auditing, or related field. With an established history of demonstrating a strong commitment and understanding of compliance in current or past roles.
    • Internal applicant are encouraged to apply. Internal applicants must have 90+% Compliance rating on all client facing calls and not have any performance issues or write ups in the last 6 months for consideration.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards related to the healthcare or medical industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and navigating multiple platforms including ZoHo, Slack, Teams, etc. Experience in Navex or other Compliance auditing softwares tools is a Plus!
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate information and identify compliance risks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to navigate difficult conversations at all levels from front line to management. This also includes the ability to effective collaborate in a remote first environment.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. A.S., B.A., B.S. degrees are a Plus!
  • Any compliance certifications are a plus!
