Job Description

As the Director of People and Culture, you will be a strategic partner to the executive team and a champion for our employees. You will lead our People and Culture and Talent Acquisition function to drive cultural leadership, strategy, and operational excellence. You will lead and inspire our people strategy, foster an engaging and inclusive culture, and align our HR practices with our business objectives.
Your role will encompass everything from organizational design and employee engagement to compliance, training, and development, with a focus on creating a thriving workplace.

This role is critical in making Rewind one of the best places to work in Canada while championing our mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive People strategy that supports Rewind’s business objectives and long-term growth.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on all people-related matters, including organizational design, succession planning, and employee engagement.

  • Align people initiatives with Rewind’s core values, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and customer-centricity.

  • Effectively manage change in organization, including communication.

Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding:

  • Lead and scale a world-class recruitment function to attract top talent across all functions.

  • Build and promote Rewind’s employer brand to position the company as an employer of choice in the SaaS industry.

  • Oversee workforce planning to ensure we have the right talent in place to achieve our goals.

Culture & Employee Experience:

  • Champion Rewind’s values and ensure they are embedded in all aspects of the employee experience.

  • Lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement, well-being, and satisfaction, ensuring we maintain a high-trust, high-performance culture.

  • Develop and implement inclusive programs that celebrate diversity and foster belonging.

  • Align Performance Management programs with Rewind's business objectives and ensure we're building a high performing team.

  • Coach managers on performance management and leadership best practices.

HR Operations & Compliance:

  • Oversee People operations, including compensation, benefits, compliance, and HRIS, ensuring efficient and scalable processes.

  • Ensure Rewind remains compliant with labor laws and regulations across all jurisdictions.

  • Utilize People analytics to measure the effectiveness of people programs and drive continuous improvement.

Team Leadership:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing People team that reflects Rewind’s values.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the People team.

Qualifications

You have 10+ years of HR/People experience with at least 5 years of experience in HR/People leadership roles. Your experience encompasses work in startup or scale-up organizations in a leadership position, ideally at least for 2 years. 

You also have:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute people strategies that drive business results
  • Strong understanding of employment law and compliance requirements accompanied with CHRL designation
  • Expertise in driving change initiatives to enhance employee engagement and organizational effectiveness 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience implementing and leveraging HR systems and data analytics to drive decisions and results.
  • Passion for building inclusive, high-performing workplaces
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's or relevant certifications preferred).

Where You’ll Work
Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees work from the office three days/week. This role will be based out of our Toronto office.
