We hit $1M ARR in January of 2023, and just surpassed $3M ARR in June 📈.


This is an incredible opportunity to join a very fast growing startup as a product sales person. 


We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Development Representative to join our dynamic Sales team at beehiiv. As a Sales Development Representative, you will play a critical role in generating new business opportunities and driving revenue growth. You will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying leads, and initiating contact with potential customers. 


This is a customer-facing role requiring personalized communication across various platforms, including 1:1 personalized email outreach, social media prospecting (Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), and face-to-face interaction with potential customers. 


The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communication skills, a strong sales aptitude, and a passion for technology.


Ideally you will have:


  • Proven experience in sales development or a similar role
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as an SDR or a similar role
  • A deep understanding of LinkedIn and Twitter as tools for prospecting and outreach
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to use, understand, and demonstrate software features and functionalities
  • Familiarity with systems and sales productivity tools to effectively manage leads and track sales activities
  • Experience using Hubspot, LinkedIn Sales Nav, Apollo, and similar sales productivity tools
  • Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • An ownership mentality
  • Experience working at an email platform is a huge plus


What you will be responsible for


  • Prospect and identify potential customers by leveraging various channels, including online research, social media (primarily Twitter and LinkedIn), and cold outreach.
  • Conduct outbound calls, emails, and DMs across socials to engage with prospects and generate interest in our suite of newsletter tools.
  • Qualify leads through effective questioning and active listening to understand their needs, challenges, and pain points.
  • Educate prospects about the features, benefits, and value proposition of beehiiv’s products, emphasizing how they can optimize their newsletters.
  • Schedule and coordinate product demonstrations and meetings for Account Executives to further the sales process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospect interactions and activities in the CRM system.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets and performance metrics.
  • Continuously stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to effectively position our products and differentiate them in the marketplace.
  • Provide feedback to the product development team based on customer insights and market feedback to drive product improvements.
