Hybrid working with three days a week in the Edinburgh office – Wednesdays mandated.

About us

Seccl is the Octopus-owned embedded investment platform that’s on a mission to helping more people to invest – and invest well.

We’re B-Corp certified with an amazing product-market fit, impressive early traction and the potential to transform an outdated industry, for the better. We've been growing fast and will scale even faster over the next few years.

We’re also proud to be part of Octopus, the £multi billion group that's on a mission to breathe new life into broken industries, through companies like Octopus Energy, Octopus Investments and Octopus Money.

Check out the Seccl website for the latest on our products and our mission to shape the future of investments.

The role

Our Senior operations analysts are part of collaborative, cross-functional teams of engineers, product owners, and operations analysts united by an absolute focus on problem solving, innovating, and delivering great customer outcomes. These are teams of experts, big thinkers, and fast learners who love to get stuff done.

As a Senior operations analyst, you will operate the day-to-day operations of your team providing daily confidence in our service and operational outcomes. You will creatively solve problems and closely monitor our service to ensure confidence. Your drive to use your industry and process expertise to create great customer outcomes will inform how the team and our tech meets our wider mission.  It’s an exciting, fast-paced role where you’ll be responsible for monitoring, organising and overseeing team outcomes whilst and coaching and sharing knowledge with the wider team.

On a typical day you will be…

  • Overseeing the end-to-end order routing process for funds and exchange traded instruments.

  • The go-to person for resolving day-to-day operational issues, acting as the first line of support for trade-related queries and exceptions

  • Monitoring team performance and key outcomes, ensuring all SLAs and industry standards are consistently met

  • Supporting the Operations delivery lead, sharing insights on process performance and identifying areas where improvements can drive better outcomes

  • Maintaining and strengthening operational controls to support today’s volumes and ensuring we’re ready to scale fast, without compromising on control or compliance

  • Coaching and supporting team members with process training, helping to foster a culture of development and operational excellence

  • Supporting the team on daily issues, ensuring all resolutions are in line with COBS and CASS rules

This role’s for you if...

  • You are a self-starer who loves making things happen and takes a high level of ownership for delivering the best outcomes for our clients

  • You are a hands-on, problem solver who can think outside the box and challenge the status quo to fix tactical issues while also delivering wider daily team outcomes

  • You have a good understanding of 3rd party systems such as Calastone and CREST

  • You are a collaborative and empathetic team player who loves to share knowledge and be the point of contact

  • You are organised and able to coordinate across team members to get things done

  • You are comfortable bringing people together and working across teams to get things done

  • You can communicate messages clearly (both verbally and in writing) to get everyone on the same page

  • You have technical build interest and keen to operate in a tech focused environment

This role isn’t for you if...

  • You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you’ll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you’ll be expected to shape your own progression

  • You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet

  • You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen

  • You don’t like change. You’ll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty

What’s in it for you…

We offer a generous mix of benefits for the things that really matter to our people, including:

💰A salary between £35,000 and £45,000 dependant on experience + reviewed annually
