They are leaders, team and organizational consultants, helping create People Solutions for Skanska, and are members of a national team of Human Resources Business Partners. As a core part of this work, the HR Director will help support Skanska and its leaders navigate and resolve issues, and roll out programs to support the respective operating units - including compensation, recruitment, performance, and talent programs.What You'll Do:• Be embedded in the business leadership as a trusted advisor.• Operate with a business-focused mindset.• Maintain a deep understanding of the business strategy and the needs of the operations.• Have your ear to the ground by building trust and maintaining visibility.3+ years of people management experience.• Leverage a strategic approach while providing organizational, team, and individual consulting services.• Work closely with EVP/GM and regional leadership and managers to provide coaching at all levels.• Drive strategic talent priorities, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness.• Deliver teaming/partnering services internally as well as with external partners• Drive solutions-focused change throughout the business.• Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking to methodically break down problems into components to discover root causes.• Demonstrate systemic thinking and the ability to think holistically ahead and anticipate potential implications of what is happening in the business, understanding its impacts on the organization, or parts of, and develop solutions to capitalize on/account for.• Partner within and across business units to deliver the employee experience.• Drive alignment with our culture and values throughout the organization.• Be a team player that proactively develops and uses collaborative and cooperative relationships to deliver our Great People strategy.• Act as a liaison for HR-related services for employees and the business.• Build and ensure alignment within partners with HR functions to design and deliver HR programs that are linked to business performance.• Support alignment within and across business units as well as with IT, Communications, Payroll, etc.• Leverage the enterprise resources, yet adapt services to directly address local business needs.• Effectively communicate with all levels of the respective organization.• Identify and put into words questions around the needs of the business, trust, feelings, and responsibility as well as needs and assumptions of oneself.• Summarize important points or messages, framing the message to the audience using meaningful terms and examples.• Develop data-supported conclusions and action plans.• Inform the business with workforce insights that predict patterns and behavior that are linked to business performance.• Organize, interpret, and present complex sets of data in a simplified and conclusive manner.• Leverage KPIs and benchmarks to drive action and higher organizational performance.• Implements strategic goals established by functional leadership and establishes operational plans for the job area.• Responsible for improving upon existing processes and systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation.• Problems and issues faced are numerous, typically undefined where information is difficult to obtain.• Communicates with senior leadership on matters of strategic importance and influences others to accept the job function’s view, new concepts, practices, and approaches.• Provides guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the company within the area of expertise; manages large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams.• Required mastery level knowledge of job area; may have deep knowledge of project management• Other Duties: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
