Software Development Manager (Web)

The Challenge to Solve

You’ll lead a squad of frontend engineers skilled in all things web technologies, responsible for empowering local business owners with incredible web app-based applications that delight our customers.

The Role

The role involves leading a team of 8 web engineers dedicated to developing innovative features that empower our restaurant partners to operate more efficiently, while delivering exceptional, seamless experiences for their customers when ordering food. You’ll team up with design and product leads to provide both technical and product direction to solve problems that matter to our customers. You’ll be challenged but also supported, as you set goals for your squad and support their success. You’ll help drive the design and development of our web platform, partake in code reviews and drive continuous improvements for your team.

We’re looking for a creative, entrepreneurial Software Development Manager who is excited to build world-class products for small business owners. These are the core competencies this role calls for:

  • 6+ years of experience working in a Product Engineering role and a minimum 2 years experience of direct line management and leadership of 4+ senior engineers
  • Proven experience using web technologies such as Javascript, Typescript and React
  • Passionate about engineering excellence, learning and coaching others
  • A positive can-do mindset, you deliver with positive impact, treating others well
  • Able to clearly express opinions on product design, while respecting the thoughts and opinions of their peers
  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with product engineers and non-engineering stakeholders alike

The Hiring Process

Here’s what we expect the hiring process for this role to be, should all go well with your candidacy. This entire process is expected to take 1-3 weeks to complete and you’d be expected to start on a specific date
