Position Summary & Responsibilities: PeopleSoft Programmer II The Department of Administration, Office of Systems Management, is seeking a PeopleSoft Programmer to join the statewide PeopleSoft ERP team. We welcome applicants of all experience levels. The position is based in Topeka, Kansas, with the potential for a hybrid remote work schedule. The State of Kansas PeopleSoft ERP encompasses both Financials Supply Chain Management and Human Capital Management applications. The successful candidate will contribute to multiple projects, focusing on the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of our PeopleSoft applications. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide solutions. Developing and maintaining PeopleSoft applications in accordance with best practices. Assisting in all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning to execution and support. Communicating effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success. Preferred qualifications include a solid understanding of PeopleSoft development principles and frameworks, along with experience in project lifecycles within PeopleSoft or other ERP systems. Candidates with significant PeopleSoft development or functional expertise will be given preference. Essential Job Functions: A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to: Create technical design specifications Assist with configuration of applications software Process modifications and/or enhancement requests to existing PeopleSoft programs or new development using the various PeopleSoft Frameworks Test and validate finished product to meet the functional requirements Responsible for development work on system upgrades (PUM Images & PeopleTools upgrades) Generate complete and accurate documentation for work based on program standards Provide production support for the customer's PeopleSoft applications. Activities include program analysis, testing and system enhancements. Some support may be outside of normal business hours Assist users with testing and evaluation of modifications. Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Effective analytical and creative problem-solving skills for the design, creation and testing of application code. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and senior support personnel. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Be a self-starter and willing to embrace challenges. Strong documentation skills and attention to detail. Ability to troubleshoot software applications. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Independently perform technical functions related to intermediate to complex enterprise applications/systems. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to communicate solution to staff or customer. Must be able to research technical manuals, internet support sites and effectively communicate issues and solutions with end-users. Understand and follow the software development life cycle. Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of experience supporting PeopleSoft applications. 3 years of experience with PeopleTools; including Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Application Packages, Component Interfaces, DataMover, SQR, Query and other PeopleSoft frameworks. 3 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL and relational databases. Experience supporting PeopleSoft Financials version 9.2, PeopleTools 8.56. Hands-on experience as a contributing team member to PeopleSoft PUM and PeopleTools upgrades. Familiarity with PeopleSoft Integration Broker and SOAP and REST web services. Experience using enterprise batch automation tools such as Automic UC4 PeopleTools Certification(s). Technical or functional experience in one or more of the following applications: PeopleSoft HCM (Human Capital Management) & Payroll for North America PeopleSoft FSCM (Financials Supply Chain Management) Minimum Qualifications: Ability to obtain and retain a Security Clearance is a requirement of employment and continued employment Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or two years of experience in system administration and analysis. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
