We are looking for a new team member to support our multi-faceted public health and healthcare emergency preparedness and response programs. This position will work across the department to coordinate federal grants, projects, and provide procurement (contracts, grants and purchases) support that directly impacts our ability to prepare and respond in the event of an emergency that impacts the health of those in Vermont. Hybrid work schedules are available.Who May ApplyThis position, Public Health Preparedness Coordinator - Limited Service (Job Requisition #50528), is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position, which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. You must apply online to be considered.AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.Environmental FactorsDuties are primarily performed in a standard office setting. Moderate travel and field work are required, for which private means of transportation may be necessary. Participation in a variety of meetings and conferences may be anticipated. Exercises and actual emergencies require work outside of normal hours. Stress may be encountered from tight deadlines. On-call status may be required.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a health or public administration field AND four (4) years or more of professional level experience in administration, planning, or supervision in a public health, health care or human services field.ORMaster's degree in public health, public administration or a health field AND two (2) years or more of professional level experience in administration, planning, or supervision in a public health, health care or human services field.Total CompensationAs a State employee you are offered a great career opportunity, but it's more than a paycheck.
