Business Development Representative- Sales

Job DescriptionThe Business Development Representative drives new revenue growth by identifying and securing business opportunities in assigned geographic areas.Main Responsibilities:• Develop and implement sales strategies for new account prospects, active and inactive client accounts• Collaborate with field management to plan, conduct, and follow up on sales activities• Achieve profit results consistent with predetermined forecasts/expectationsAbout Us:Surge is a national leader in staffing and innovative workforce solutions. We prioritize building long-term partnerships with clients and ensuring each placement is a perfect fit.Primary Functions:• Develop account sales plans/approaches with Manager on at least 30 target accounts• Identify prospects and develop sales strategies to secure new business through various means• Conduct prospect, active, and inactive account sales calls independently or jointly with branch office staff and management• Lead and primary sales resource on identified target accounts, creating the account plan and driving sales closure• Partner with branch office and Headquarters staff to enhance/supplement product knowledge needed to close the sale• Analyze prospect requirements and needs to understand how Company products and services can meet these needs• Establish contacts in the business community through local networking events to increase brand recognition and awareness• Record all business and sales activity in Company database and complete required reports• Respond quickly to customer and prospect inquiries and needsRequirements:• High school diploma or equivalent required• Previous business development experience• At least 3 years of proven outside direct sales experience, including developing sales strategies and conducting cold calls• Basic math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook• Ability to travel to various locations and work independently or as part of a team• Strong leadership skills, initiative, and creativity, with excellent written and verbal communication skillsEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER:Surge is committed to providing equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation, national origin, veteran status, genetic information, or any other protected status.Job Type: Full-time Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
