About the team
In this role, you’ll be joining the Operations team. The Operations team manages the entire order fulfillment process, from inventory management to shipping and logistics. As a member of this team, you will play a key role in supporting our customers by handling issues such as order tracking, returns, and exchanges, ensuring a smooth and positive experience.
An Area Manager will be a self-starter that is able to work in an autonomous environment. An analytical thinker, willing to use data and root cause analysis to drive his/her decisions. They will be responsible for the performance, safety, and quality of multiple departments. This position reports directly to the Senior Ops Manager and will ensure all budgeted costs and SLA’s are met.
What you'll do- Determine short term and long term shift plans for department labor needs and modify when needed to reflect accurate production goals
- Lead upper management through weekly and monthly labor forecast to ensure proper staffing for all departments
- Provide end of day reports documenting operation performance, production review, labor approvals, employee issues, and the next days plan for success
- Proactively partner with warehouse Leads and Ambassadors to achieve department goals and overcome potential roadblocks
- Instill consistency across the warehouse by documenting and coaching team members through our standard operating procedures
- Advocate for quality using performance management to prevent losses by holding teams accountable for accurate reporting
- Monitor associates attendance, behavior, production, and safety providing on the spot coaching according to the company’s policies and procedures when needed
- Engage associates in team bonding initiatives and in team meetings to create a fun, collaborative, and solutions oriented environment
- Mentor, develop, and motivate a team of Leads, Ambassadors, and Associates to ensure the highest level of production
- Uphold and support all OSHA regulations and safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for all associates
- Partner cross-functionally with Data, IT, Engineering, and People Operation teams to seek operational improvements
- Design and implement new warehouse management tools and processes to improve productivity, accuracy, quality, and safety
- Take on additional duties and ad-hoc projects as needed
Who you are- 3+ years experience as a Warehouse Lead of Supervisor leading a team of 15+ Associates
- Uses Excel or Google sheets to manipulate data from separate sources, V-Lookup and Pivot Tables are a must
- Available to work overtime during peak seasons and other times during the year as needed
- Passionate about maintaining quality in distribution
- Curious and excited to bring forward new ideas
- A self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and project management skills, proven ability to design clear processes, and a very detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem solving
- Worked with Warehouse Management Systems such as HighJump, Lean, and 5S is a plus

$59,000 - $70,000 a year
The salary range this position will be $59,000-70,000 annually.
The Black Tux defines compensation plans using market data aligned with comparable companies at a similar stage and size as ours.
How we work at The Black Tux
Onsite
Onsite TBT team members need to be in person working full-time (40 hours per week) from an office, warehouse, or showroom. The reason being is that these roles have a requirement for a physical presence to do their job with customers, team members, or at one of our locations. We host a number of onsite events where all our team members are welcome!
