The Summer Food Services Associate will support the implementation of the organization's Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This role ensures that meals are distributed efficiently, adhere to federal and state guidelines, and meet the needs of the community. The Associate will work closely with the Summer Food Services team, staff, volunteers, and partnering organizations to ensure a successful program.


Position Type: Seasonal, Part-Time (up to 40 hours per week during summer months) 

Location: Corporate Warehouse, 921 Princess St. Wilmington, NC 

Reports To: Food Services Specialist 

Compensation: $14.00 - $15.50/hour


Key Responsibilities:

· Assist in the execution of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) to ensure compliance with USDA and state regulations.

· Assist in the daily operations of meal distribution sites, ensuring food safety, inventory control, and program efficiency.

· Assist in ensuring volunteers and seasonal staff follow all meal service procedures and compliance requirements.

· Assist in documenting meal counts, inventory, and compliance records as needed.

· Assist with meal deliveries and procurement of produce for distribution.

· Provide on-site support and troubleshooting at meal distribution locations.

· Maintain strong relationships with site supervisors, community organizations, and program stakeholders.

· Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Food Services or Food Services Specialist.

Requirements

 

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Knowledge of USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) or USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines is a plus.

· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

· Ability to manage online reporting systems.

· Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

· Must be able to pass a background check.


Work Schedule:

· Part-time, seasonal position (May – August, exact dates vary by program needs).

· Schedule may include evenings and weekends as needed.
