Under the direction of the Manager Benefits this role counsels and assists employees regarding a variety of benefits programs to include health, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life, disability, and other miscellaneous/ancillary programs.I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Develops and distributes a variety of benefits educational materials including recruitment and retention brochures, New Caregiver Orientation presentation, open enrollment materials and other benefits related information as required. Ensures that information is accurate and up to date. (10%)
2. Serves as the point of contact and responds directly to employees regarding escalated benefit issues. (20%)
3. Performs audits and ensures that benefit programs are being administered according to Plan documents and that the HRIS/Payroll system/outsourced benefits platform reflects current/accurate data. (10%)
4. Communicates and works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders such as attorneys, providers, and vendors on benefits related concerns. (10%)
5. Demonstrates oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate technical information in understandable terms. (10%)

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.

Experience/Skill:
Required:
1. Minimum of five years of relevant work experience.
2. Knowledge of health and welfare benefit plans/provisions including COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, Labor Laws.
3. Knowledge of health and welfare benefit plans/provisions with a benefits administration background including plan compliance.
4. Strong organizational/prioritization skills.
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills including formal presentations.
6. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
7. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to remain poised in difficult situations. Able to execute work beyond the scope of this function and provide analysis and advice in non-routine, project-related area.
8. Must be able to appropriately communicate with all levels of employee and management.
9. Ability to identify, assess, and resolve complex issues/problems.
Preferred:
1. Benefits administration experience in a large, complex healthcare organization.
2. Kronos and Workday experience.
3. Experience with collectively bargained agreements.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
