Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, between 6:00am - 5:00pm for 8.5 to 11 hour shifts, including meal break
No holidays or weekends!
Job Specific Details and Tasks:
Core Duties:• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness.• Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.• Perform physical exam and health histories.• Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.• Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.• Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.• Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.• Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.• Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.• Perform nursing services identified in the TO.• Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
Additional Duties:
• Discharge or release from post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) according to established criteria. Provide follow-up evaluation and care related to anesthesia complications and/or side effects.• Check all resuscitative equipment prior to the beginning of the day. Any malfunctioning or missing equipment shall be reported to the Charge Nurse of the PACU immediately.• Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Interpret data about the patient's status in order to identify each patient's age specific needs and provide the care needed by the patient group including, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients, such as interpreting nonverbal communication, safety practices and medication dosing of Neonates/Pediatrics; enlisting Adolescent patients in treatment, safety and security practices; and recognizing physical limitations, psychosocial needs, age related conditions, safety and medication precautions for geriatrics.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Education: Possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma in Nursing, or an Associate Degree in Nursing, from an accredited agency such as the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).* Experience: Possess a minimum of two years-experience within the last five years working in a Post- Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Intensive Care Unit, or three years’ experience on a medical surgical unit.
* Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS and PALS
* Licensure: Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted nursing license in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia and must maintain a nursing license to practice in the United States of America.
* Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
The salary range for this position is $43.12/hr. - $82/hr. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including but not limited to skill set, years of experience, shift and the employee's geographic location.
