As General Counsel, you’ll have the chance to build something meaningful, working with a team of passionate individuals committed to driving growth.
Your responsibilities:
• Leadership – Act as senior leader within the organisation and manage the existing legal team
• Commercial – Support the legal counsel with drafting, reviewing and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements to support the wider business (in both the UK and the US).
• Corporate – Work with the CFO and VP Corporate Development on all fundraisings and corporate activity such as M&A, corporate restructuring etc
• Corporate Governance – advise on matters related to corporate governance and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Company Secretarial – Perform company secretarial duties for all entities within the Vitesse Group
• Employment - Assisting with a variety of employment matters, including implementation and administration of the Company's employee incentive schemes, recruitment, disciplinary and grievance matters.
• Regulatory – work with the CRO and Compliance teams to ensure Vitesse stays abreast of global regulatory developments applicable to Vitesse and ensure alignment with these requirements.
• Intellectual Property – Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property, such as trademarks.
• Data Privacy - Act as the Data Protection Officer for Vitesse PSP Ltd
• A commercially aware self-starter who is confident in managing a varied and busy workload and working autonomously
• A team player with a focus on building strong relationships within the business
• Able to prioritise conflicting demands and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• You will be >10 years PQE with a broad range of legal experience
• Ideally have a mix of private practice and in house experience (fintech startups/scale up experience preferable)
• Experience working within financial services is very preferrable
